We have another venue for the 8th Tucson Fringe Festival. Tucson Improv Movement was kind enough to help us in a jam. About six weeks before the festival, one of our venues announced they were closing on January 1. Two shows had lost their venue. We began plotting ideas and brainstorming replacement venues we could use. We discussed squeezing shows into other venues and even considered using the Fringe Lounge
The festival has grown exponentially over the years and each year brings something new and different. Sometimes there is a new venue, a new genre of artist, or a mix of multiple things. Last year we hosted our first Bring Your Own Venue and, we were so pleased with the results, we have two this year. We have a record number of venues this year and the logistics alone are
The next featured venue for the Tucson Fringe Festival is Studio ONE. Their Facebook Page is titled “Studio ONE A Space for Art and Activism. They view themselves as a space for contemporary visual, video, and performance art and theatre. As their title on Facebook suggests, they seek to highlight social justice issues. They have participated in several art showings for immigration and transgender issues, just to name a few.
